The surface
we ship on.
Sixteen services across four practices. AI to plug intelligence into your product, Build to ship it, Automate to keep it humming, Design to make it feel considered.
Sixteen services.
Four practices.
One integrated team.
NerdHeadz is an AI-first custom software development studio founded in 2022 in Sheridan, Wyoming. This page is the full catalog of our sixteen services — organized by practice (AI & Intelligence, Build & Product, Automate & Ops, Design & Craft) and cross-indexed by outcome (ship an MVP, add AI to an existing product, automate operations).
Our engineers and designers work on AI agent development, RAG and LLM applications, voice AI, web and mobile development, MVP engineering, SaaS platforms, no-code systems, workflow automation, API integrations, UX/UI design, branding, and design systems. Every engagement is scoped around a single outcome; the right combination of services follows from that.
We typically ship fixed-scope MVPs in 6 – 16 weeks, embed pods of 2 – 4 engineers for longer horizons, or advise on AI strategy on a weekly cadence. More than 80 products have gone live under this model. If you already know what you need, jump to the services grid.
Sixteen ways we ship software.
Group by practice (how we’re organized) or by outcome (what you’re trying to achieve). Every card links to a full capability page with process, pricing, and case studies.
Which services do you actually need?
A plain-language decision matrix. Find the row that matches your situation; the right column is the combination we’d propose before discovery even starts.
A real build rarely uses one service.
The common pairings clients actually request. Mix and match — or let us propose the shape during discovery.
Three ways to work with us.
Pick the shape that matches your stage. We’ve done all three this month; teams often start with one and grow into another.
What these services look like in production.
The vocabulary, briefly.
Plain definitions for the terms that show up on every scoping call. Skip if you live in this stack; link it to a stakeholder if you don’t.
- /01AI agent
- An AI agent is software that uses a large language model as a reasoning engine to plan, call tools, maintain memory across turns, and execute multi-step tasks — with guardrails and human-in-the-loop checkpoints. Unlike a chatbot, an agent acts on your data and in your systems.
- /02RAG (retrieval-augmented generation)
- RAG is a pattern that grounds a language model in your own documents at query time. The system retrieves relevant passages from a vector database, re-ranks them, and generates an answer with citations — so the model is constrained by your source of truth instead of its training data.
- /03MVP (minimum viable product)
- An MVP is the smallest version of a product that can deliver end-to-end value to a real user. NerdHeadz MVPs are shippable software — not slideware — clickable in two weeks and live in 6 – 12 weeks.
- /04Voice AI
- Voice AI combines speech-to-text, a language model, and text-to-speech to hold live phone conversations. Production voice agents need sub-second latency, interruption handling, and CRM integration to replace tier-1 support without frustrating callers.
- /05Workflow automation
- Workflow automation connects the tools a business already uses (CRM, ERP, email, spreadsheets) so that repetitive work runs without human hands. At NerdHeadz we build these on n8n, Make, or Zapier, with custom middleware where reliability matters.
- /06Design system
- A design system is a shared library of design tokens, UI components, and contribution rules that keep a product visually consistent as it grows. A real design system includes governance — otherwise it decays within a quarter.
Who NerdHeadz services are for.
Startup founders shipping a first AI-enabled product who need a team that can design, engineer, and advise at the same time — not three vendors stitched together. Product leaders at Series A – C companies who need to add agent or RAG features to an existing product without stalling the roadmap. Operations leaders with expensive manual processes that would collapse the business at 3× volume. And design-led teamsthat need the engineering horsepower to ship what they’ve drawn.
NerdHeadz is registered in Sheridan, Wyoming and works globally with a distributed team. Typical engagements are English-language, async-first, and remote, with weekly demos and written weekly reports. Most clients are in the US, UK, EU, or LATAM.
Before you book a call.
Common questions we hear. If yours isn’t here, the fastest answer is a 30-minute call — we’ll tell you straight whether we’re the right fit.
Start with the outcome. Shipping a first product? You need MVP + design. Adding AI to an existing app? Agents + RAG. Drowning in manual ops? Workflow automation. The decision matrix above narrows it further; a 30-minute call does the rest.
Three: fixed-scope builds (timeline + price locked), embedded pods (2 – 4 engineers joining your team monthly), and advisory retainers for AI strategy and architecture review.
Typically 1 – 2 weeks from signed SOW to first commit. Rush starts available — we reshuffle the queue for the right project.
Yes. About half our work is brownfield — inheriting legacy systems, modernizing, or adding AI on top. We read the repo first, propose a plan, then ship in slices.
Web + AI agents. SaaS + RAG. Mobile + voice AI. Design system + SaaS. A real build almost never uses one discipline — the page above shows our common pairings.
Fixed-scope builds from $5k. Embedded pods from $5k/month. Retainers from $2k/month for basic support, $5k – $15k/month with active feature work. Time & materials from $60/hour. Discovery sprints free – $5k. Plus a free PoC or prototype as a relationship-builder when we already see a clear shape. Our AI Estimator will ballpark your scope in 90 seconds.
Tell us what you’re trying to build.
Thirty minutes, no slide deck. Bring a Figma, a repo, or a napkin sketch — we’ll come back with a shape, a timeline, and a number.
